PM Shri Narendra Modi has inaugurated India’s
first semi high speed train on February 15, 2019 in New Delhi.
Train 18
will run between Delhi and Varanasi with two stoppages Kanpur And Prayagraj
(formally known as Allahabad). It is made by Indian engineers and fully
manufactured in Integral coach factory Chennai under Make In India initiative. It
consists of 16 air-conditioned coaches of which two are executive class. It has
the capacity of 1,128 passengers. Every coach is well equipped with automatic
doors, comfortable seats and GPS-based audio-visual passenger information
system. Train 18 will also have on-board hotspot WiFi facility for
entertainment of the passengers. It will also comprise of the bio-vaccum type
of toilets
Vande Bharat Express tickets will cost Rs.
1,760 for the Chair Class(CC) and Rs. 3,310 for the Executive Class(EC) for
travelling from Varanasi to Delhi. The return journey from Delhi to Varanasi
will cost Rs. 1,700 for CC and Rs. 3,260 for EC.
